Business Policy
I guarantee top quality work in a timely manner. I’m happy to spend up to 1.5 hours of time consulting with you at no charge. After that, please understand that I need to be fairly compensated for my time and expertise. I have insurance, taxes, rent, utilities, sub contractor and equipment maintenance expenses that must be paid in order for me to stay in business and provide you with the best possible results on your projects. You are welcome to provide your own fabric and trim but there will be an appropriate up charge for COF. Selling my customers beautiful top quality materials is an important income stream for my business.
Whole sale to other licensed businesses, in the trade. Tax ID resale form required. As long as you have provided measurements and work orders in writing, I will fix any mistake I make at no charge. If I’m provided with incorrect measurements, inappropriate fabric or installation description, I will need to charge at my usual rate, to try and correct the problem.
Different fabrics will behave in different ways, depending on weave, content and weight. I would hope that you will consult with me, if you are unsure of the right fabric for your project (Example: Slinky doesn’t do crisp, no matter how I inter-line). I am unable to work with silk velvets or other problematic fabric which require a lot of hand sewing.
My fabric recommendations include:
- Lining should be of a lighter weight than face fabric and trim.
- Slippery lining with slippery face fabric is not good.
- My personal favorites include; Dupioni silk, Microfiber, Yarn dyed cottons and linens.
- 50% deposit required
- Balance due on delivery
I reserve the right to charge for:
- Fabric search, if fabric is not purchased through me
- Design and travel time
- Storage of your completed projects, furniture or materials for more than 30 days
- Shipping and handling
- Returned checks
- Late payment
- Express orders
Retail Customers
I offer free in home or office consultations. For large jobs I require a deposit between $50 and $250 to measure search for fabric, gather samples and work up a firm bid.
You will be charged a 6.8 % sales tax on all materials and labor.
